Armed with a trail plan to expand and enhance the trails at Barking Slopes Conservation Area, Allegheny Land Trust and Trail Pittsburgh need helping hands to make the improvements a reality! Join fellow volunteers on November 12 to clean up this conservation area and forgethe way forward for more accessible, sustainable trails on the lower slopes. With a variety of tasks on hand, volunteers are needed to help collect trash from the roadside and forested area and to begin building tread on the new trail.
Wear appropriate footwear and outerwear. The event will happen rain or shine but will be cancelled/rescheduled if thunderstorms are expected. Activities will require climbing over various surfaces, including wet and muddy areas. Attendees are asked to work at their own ability. Water, snacks, and tools are provided. Please bring your own reusable water bottle if possible.
